Q: What was Medi Group’s role in Sloane’s exterior?
A: Medi Group’s role was to hand-lay over one million exterior bricks on the project. Every brick was set by hand, which gave the façade its depth, texture, and enduring quality.
Q: What was your overall design intention for Sloane, and how did you want the building to feel within its surrounding neighbourhood?
A: While Medi Group wasn’t involved in the design itself, I can say the final result brings softness and comfort to the neighbourhood. The way the buildings step back from the street adds a softness to what could otherwise be a very imposing structure.
Q: Why was this particular brick chosen for Sloane’s façade?
A: The brick selection was made by the Fitzrovia design team, but in my view, it was a perfect choice. It brings a rich, inviting character to the property- something that resonates both up close and from a distance.
Q: What sets Sloane apart from other purpose-built rental buildings?
A: The overall look, feel, and location make Sloane more inviting than most rental properties. It’s a place where residents can truly take pride in their home address.
Q: Is there an element of Sloane’s façade or design you feel especially proud of something that feels like your “signature”?
A: We’re incredibly proud of our role in creating such a spectacular-looking project. I’ve often said,"Medi Group was the Leonardo da Vinci of this Mona Lisa." It’s safe to say Sloane is a landmark.
